Free license wording note

Reply when client use is not included

A plain-language support pattern for client use not included copy. Adapt it to your actual product terms and avoid granting rights that are not already in your published policy.

Use case

A freelancer, agency, educator, or consultant asks whether they can use a digital product while working for a client.

Rule

Keep examples narrow and clearly labeled as examples. Clarify client-use boundaries without turning the reply into custom legal permission or a separate paid review service.

Not a legal service

This is a self-serve copy resource for support wording. It does not review contracts, clear trademarks, or create custom license permissions.

Draft reply

Subject: About using this digital product Hi [name], Thanks for asking about [use case]. The published license and terms are the source of truth for how this digital product can be used. In plain language, the relevant boundary is: [brief policy summary]. This email is only a support explanation and does not add permissions beyond the published terms. Before sharing, reselling, transferring, or using the file in a paid client or commercial context, please review the full terms linked on our site. Thanks, [store name]

Customize safely

Replace [use case] with the customer wording, then summarize only what your published policy already says.

Privacy boundary

Do not ask for passwords, full card numbers, IDs, private client files, account access, or remote access to understand the question.

Good CTA

Link to Terms, Acceptable Use, Delivery & Support, or the product preview rather than a checkout, waitlist, or hands-on service offer.
